Sports & Extra Curricular Activities

Swami Vivekananda famously said, “be strong, my young friends; that is my advice to you. You will be nearer to Heaven through football than through the study of the Gita.” The school strongly promotes health, fitness and sportsmanship by encouraging team games and individual sporting skills. The school attaches great importance to co-curricular and extra –curricular activities. These are designed to develop important traits of character like honestly, self-confidence, co-operation and diligence and to promote talents for leadership and responsibility. Debates, elocution and quiz contests, dramatics, flower arrangements, art and craft, drawing and painting competitions, games and athletics are also included in the curriculum to promote physical and curricular values among students and to encourage in them a spirit of healthy competition. An inter-house athletic meet and school cultural programme is held every year.
